Marina Hramina - Entry Point to the Kornati Archipelago

A lovely marina on the quiet island of Murter, full of small fishing and agricultural towns, close to the Croatian coast but also to the famous Kornati archipelago, a sailor's paradise.

Location & Approach
This marina is located in the town of Muter, in the northeastern part of the island of Murter on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia. This particular region, the Murter Sea, is known to many seasoned visitors as one that is great for quality sailing opportunities.

The island of Murter is connected to the mainland by a drawbridge in Tisno and it’s also 36km away from Sibenik and 43km from Zadar airport, which means there are daily connections to this town and many other resorts like Rijera, Split and Trogir.

The marina can be found in the Bay of Hramina (43°49.00' N - 15°36.00' E), where it’s protected naturally from the strongest winds by the islets of Tegina, Veliki and Mali Vinik. The ancients too noticed this setting which is perfect for mooring ships, which is why close to the marina there are the ruins of the ancient city of Colentum. The Hramina marina is today considered within the circuit the entry point to the Kornati Archipelago.

Entry to the marina is achieved through the body of water between the island of Tegina and the Gradina Point on Murter. While this is a fairly frequented region by the many tourists and locals, the spaces between the island promontories and the islets are big enough and the water is deep enough not to post major issues to a skipper looking to enter the marina. Also, you’ll find that all approaches are clearly marked and visible even at night.

Infrastructure & Ambience
Starting with the 400 berths along its five piers that have a water depth between 1 and 3 m, with the fact that the marina is open all year round and ending with the fact that there are a wide range of quality services, one can consider the Hramina to be a top location when sailing the Adriatic.

For example, not only do the berths have water and electricity supply, but there is also cable TV hookup available, 24 hour protection, a service yard with a 15t crane, a 70t travel lift, workshop for wood and plastic repairs, painting and polishing and a workshop for engine repairs as well as high pressure washers for washing hulls. Basically, everything your boat needs.

But not only the boat is well cared for here, it’s also the guest. There are showers and toilets available on the marina, a hotel, a restaurant with a bar, an exchange office and telephone booths. A grocery store, a Laundromat and a nautical shop complete the list of services offered by the marina.

Once here, there’s no need to stay cooped up in the marina, there are several small establishments on the island that can be visited either by land or by water. Betina, Tisno and Jezera are the biggest on Murter and also have marinas of their own. When you are looking to do a little sailing, just head for the Kornati archipelago with its myriad of islands that have been turned into a national park.

Of course, there is also the choice of sailing the Croatian coast too, and major centers such as Sibenik or Biograd are just miles away, and thus an easy day trip from Hramina.
