Location & Approach Many aficionados are familiar with the region of island")%}, especially those fond of the Croatian coastline of the northern Adriatic. This island is one of the most picturesque places on the Dalmatian coast thanks mainly to the rural landscape and the small villages which have remained unchanged in centuries.
The marina of Betina is situated in the eponymous town on the northwestern part of the island of Murter, in the Zdrace cove. This location is famous for its fine sand beaches and its pine forests. Though not a big marina, the Betina Marina provides all the comfort and luxury that the weary traveler needs.
The coordinates of the marina are 43" 49,6' N 15" 36,4' E. The approach is made either from the north or from the southeast from Tisno, the point that connects the island to the mainland via a drawbridge. The northern approach is recommended in this case for the sheltered waters and for the line of sight sailing.
Entry to the marina is made via the entrance pointing towards the southwest, as formed by the breakwater parallel to the coastline. It has a green light warning sailors and an additional cement column rising from the sea which marks a shallow section. The only time entry in the marina is not recommended is when there is a bora wind blowing.
Infrastructure & Ambience Judging strictly by the number of berths, the Betina Marina is a small one, with just 180 berths on the water and 90 dry ones. As usual, there are electricity and water connections at every berth. Among the facilities which are available we mention the reception, the exchange office, the restaurant, toilets and showers, a repair shop with a 20t crane and a260t travel lift, a laundry service and a fuel station which is a third of a nautical mile away from the marina.
Chandleries and other shops can be found on the premises and anything else you can’t find you can purchase at any of the supermarkets in town. The same goes with the restaurant. The rest of the marina structures is made up of the nautical services and the agencies. There is also a 120-places parking lot.
Murter island is located within the Kornati Archipelago region, made up of 147 islands which offer any crew plenty of sailing opportunities. The islands cover an area of almost 70 sq km and most of it is made up national parks, which means there is unspoiled nature all around in this region.
