VIP Spotting: The Hot Spots for your yacht charter holiday

Eager to see how Kate Moss, Bono or Bernie Ecclestone are spending their holiday? Yachtbooker reveals some hot spots for meeting VIPs - and gives some important hints how to live a VIP lifestyle on your yacht charter holiday.

Late afternoon in the harbour of St. Tropez: A light breeze is blowing away the heat of the day. The last day visitors stroll along the old town before they disappear and open the stage for the lucky few who can afford to dine out in the luxury restaurants and clubs.
A colourful bunch of rich & famous people descend from their luxury yachts and make their walk down to the lobster and champagne bars. Most probably, they have passed the day out at the Med, maybe stopped by Île de Levant and grabbed some drinks in one of the clubs at the Plage de Pampelonne.

st-tropez.jpgSt. Tropez has lost nothing of its attraction for the international Jet Set which has been founded in the 60´s by Gunter Sachs and Brigitte Bardot. It´s highly probable to spot VIPs as Naomi Campbell, Bruce Willis, Giorgio Armani or Rod Stewart. Special hint: Pass by the legendary Club 55 if you want to see folks like Cristiano Ronaldo, Paris Hilton or Hugh Jackman enjoying life. In case you don´t want to order a magnum bottle of champagne, a Kir Royal also will do – at least you will taste the sparkle that makes Club 55 such a hot spot. See more pictures of Club 55 here...

cannes.jpgCannes is another VIP Hot Spot in the Med. During the annual International Film festival which takes place in May, movie Stars escape the crowd at the legendary Croisette on board their luxury yachts which are moored further outside in the port or in some hidden coves.
In high season, which lasts from June to September, Arabian sheiks and Russian Oligarchs, mostly along with some celebrities, drop by. The place is also appreciated as a party location: Madonna, Brad Pitt or Beyoncé are known to invite the party crowd to their luxury yachts.
On shore side, the luxury hotel Carlton located next to the Croisette is still a VIP hot spot. On its terrace or in its restaurant, you can dine among international movie stars – not only during the film Festival. Order a French Riviera Punch to give the impression of an insider. kroatien-istrien.jpgCroatia, especially the coast off Istria, is an upcoming hot spot. Although the area may not be as exclusive as southern France, more and more celebrities decide to spend their holiday there.
Tina Turner, Bono, Tom Cruise and Bernie Ecclestone are known as regular guests on their luxury yachts. If you are lucky, you may clink glasses with actors like Anthony Hopkins or John Malkovich in the Marina of Umag or Grožnjan – connoisseurs order a Crocktail, the typical Croatian Long Drink. VIP Hot spots in the Caribbean

St-Vincent-(1).jpgBut the Med with its well-known hot spots like Marbella, Monaco or Bodrum is not the only place to be.
The majority of the US VIPs head to the Caribbean for holiday. Most popular spot are the Grenadines. The archipelago between St. Vincent and Grenada with its 100 small islands and islets, the snow white beaches and emerald waters is a paradise for all sorts of water sport aficionados.

Despite being known from the movie “pirates of the Caribbean”, St. Vincent still is a secret spot. Johnny Depp, the main actor of the movie, fell in love with the island and frequently sails along with his yacht “Vajoliroja“. But don´t get too excited when you spot the yacht at an anchorage and in a marina: It can be chartered, so it´s not provided that “Jack Sparrow” is on board.

mustique.jpgLike St. Tropez, the island of Mustique is an Eldorado for VIPs since the Sixties. Visitors who don´t arrive by ship need an extra permit. Johnny Depp, Mick Jagger, Kate Moss, Tom Hanks or David Bowie have been spotted on Mustique´s beaches. Meeting point No. 1 is Basil’s Bar, a simple bamboo shack crowded with celebrities. To get yourself into the mood, order a ”Basil’s Rum Punch“. See more pictures of Basil´s Bar here...

marigot-bay.jpgIn the Northern part of Lesser Antilles, the international jet-set tends to visit the bigger islands such as Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica or ")|(user)administrator|(hash)7d4149bcfd2a1f2e0227adfdb61d2137fea526aebf3b709c55519a84557f612f%} an. The latter offers excellent marinas, for example Marigot Bay. Make a reservation at the restaurant Masala Bay. The Chardonnay may not be a bargain, but the stunning view across the bay is worth the financial impact. Take a look around: Stars like Tommy Hilfiger or Nicolas Cage may be dining at the table right next to you. See more pictures of Masala Bay here...
