The largest city on the island has the same name as the island itself - it is called also Hvar. It is definitely worth to sail to this port. In this town you can find different kind of restaurants where you can spend your evenings and enjoy typical Croatian dishes as well as domestic wines like the Zlatan Plavac or the Ivan Dolac which are made from the grape variety Plavac Mali that is cultivated on the island.
Besides, the area around Hvar is famous for snorkeling and diving because of its crystal-clear water. Here you can drop your anchor and discover various reefs and explore the underwater world. Of course, you can also visit a lot of old historical buildings and even a fortress on that island.
