Monastery Sant Salvador
The monastery Sant Salvador, lying on the 500 metres high mountain, is one of the numerous places of excursions you can make from Portocolom. It takes you approximately 30 minutes by car to reach it.
Before sailing back and entering the port of Porto Colom, you can explore the area around Cala d’Or. The perfect bay for the last bathing stop is Cala Sa Nau, situated about 1.5 sea miles westerly from the port entrance of Porto Colom. This beautiful bay has a nice sand beach and perfect clear water. On the beach, there is a small beach bar. The rocks of Cala Sa Nau are a good snorkelling area.
When you arrive in Porto Colom at the afternoon, you can visit the old town, which belongs to the best preserved old towns on the Balearics.
If you have more time, the monastery Sant Salvador is worth visiting. The monastery lies on the mountain Sant Salvador, which is on the way from Porto Colom to Felanitx. If you wish to spend some more hours bathing, snorkelling or relaxing in the sun, you can do it on the beach of Cala Marcal or along the rocks at the port entrance. The best restaurants and bars of Porto Colom are on the port promenade. Some of them belong to the best restaurants of Majorca.
