Turkish Coast - Sailing between Europe and Asia
The classic sailing area in Turkey extends from Finike in the east over the Gulf of Göcek, the Bay of Marmaris in the south, and the Gökova-Gulf near Bodrum to Cesme on the Turkish western coast.

The Gulf of Goekova in Turkey
Besides the countless picturesque rocky bays with pine forests, reaching the sea, there are modern and well-maintained marinas in Göcek, Marmaris and Bodrum.
Excursions to Greek islands used to be spoilt by difficult and expensive entry requirements, which have been slightly loosened. However, you will still have to pay a charge. Because of the offshore winds the southern coast between Finike and Marmaris and especially the Gulf of Fethiye can be also recommended to families or inexperienced crews.
The historical sights and landscapes near the coast, such as Ephesus, Halikarnassos, Xanthos, Kaunos and the famous Lycian rocky graves in Myra will lure even the keenest seamen.

Yachting with moon in Turkey
Navigating in this area is quite easy, as you will mostly sail along the coast. There are only a few shallows, which are clearly marked.
All in all, this is a beautiful, nearly perfect sailing area with many bays and the inimitable aura of Turkish traditions and distinct hospitality.
