Yacht Charter San Antonio

San Antonio is a picturesque place in the middle of the west coast of Ibiza
San Antonio - Clubbing Capital of the World
To make a long story short: San Antonio has a modern infrastructure and a rich nightlife. If you are cruising off Ibiza’s west coast, then you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to anchor here!
General Info
What is considered by many British tourists the clubbing capital of the world, San Antonio is also the second largest town in Ibiza. Its history stretches back to two thousand years but it was only as recently as the 1950s that it evolved into the party capital that it is today. British Yacht Charter holidaymakers in particular made it to these shores.

On the Western part of the island, the town sits on a bay which is aptly named San Antonio Bay. Among other things, the town is famous for reportedly being the birthplace of Christopher Columbus (as well as Hannibal). The large numbers of Brits landing on these shores every year mean that the locals speak or understand English to some degree, so you won’t need to brush up on your Spanish.

Travel & Arrival
The town is ideally situated on the island, not just from a landscape point of view but also from a logistic point, just 20 minutes from Ibiza Town and its international airport, meaning that Yacht Charter groups can arrive here in just a couple of hours from any corner of the continent.

Also, the town has great connections with the rest of the town in Ibiza. The main roads in, linking to the south side of the island are PM-803 and C-731, which is also used for access to the airport.

By water, there is a ferry line which connects Ibiza with the Spanish mainland via the town of Denia. Imagine that this one of the most popular means of arriving to the island so if you’re thinking of taking your Yacht Charter group here during the tourist season, it would be wise to book in advance.

Avant & Apres Sail
The whole city is divided into interesting parts, all of which can be considered Yacht Charter attractions. First off, there’s the famous Egg sculpture sitting at the main roundabout in town, which was placed there to claim San Antonio as the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. The other parts of town are Passeig de ses Fonts (the Promenade), the West End (the nightlife center) and the Sunset Strip, famous for its sunsets.

Getting around the town is easy, since everything is within walking distance. This means that you’ll never have to go too far to reach your destination. This comes especially in handy when it comes to shopping. There are traditional souvenir shops reminiscent of the 70s but also modern stores where you can buy clothes and accessories, popular with the younger Yacht Charter crowds.

The local cuisine is an exotic mix of Spanish, Italian and Ibicenco recipes and ingredients, but there are also venues that serve international recipes. The best ones are to be found along the harbor and the promenade, since this is the area that received the most attention in later years. The thing to remember when eating out in San Antonio is that Spanish eat really late so you can show up with your Yacht Charter crew as late as ten in the evening and you’ll still find something to eat.

After sunset (which is best seen at the famous Café del Mar in the West end) the town no longer belongs to the locals but to the partying crowds of noisy tourists. There are several world famous clubs in San Antonio which regularly feature top DJs and huge parties. There are also lots of bars and cafes where you can hang out with other Yacht Charter sailors for drinks and a good time.

Events & Actions
The fact that in San Antonio you’ll find some of the best beaches in Ibiza may have something to do with the popularity of the Yacht Charter resort so checking out the beaches should be your number one priority when coming here.

Other than that, the word of the day is party, and there are plenty during the tourist season. The big clubs make a point out of outdoing themselves and each other in organizing the biggest and loudest bashes, which can only be beneficial to the Yacht Charter guests looking for a good time.

For a different look on the island’s tradition, you could drop by in San Antonio during the Fiesta of their patron saint, Sant Antoni which is dedicated to protecting farm animals. This means that in mid January, locals dress up in elaborate animal costumes and parade through town, all culminating with a huge bonfire in the central square at dusk to ward off evil spirits. Truly a fascinating experience for any Yacht Charter group happening to visit then.
