Going ashore after your day cruising route, you can discover the trace of the past. The Turkish coast is often referred to as the biggest open-air museum of the Mediterranean. Almost everywhere you can encounter marks of the ancient civilizations. Apart of the popular spots like the ancient metropolises Ephesus and Pergamom, small towns and ruins are worth seeing. If you like to become acquainted with the modern Turkish life and culture, the best way is to visit numerous markets and basars. In the narrow streets of small towns, you will feel the spirit of the Orient. The markets are full with diversified exotic goods; you will find both traditional handicraft and precious jewels. But be aware - bargaining is of the highest order here and you are expected to do so at almost each store.
Boating makes hungry and you will get fond of the Turkish food! The Turkish cuisine is one of the best in the world. The cooking tradition goes back to the times of sultans, when the cooks competed for the most delectable of delicacies in their kitchen. Nowadays, you can taste a huge variety of dishes, including 50 different variations of aubergine plates alone.
Making a walking-tour along the shore, you will be amazed by the beauty of nature. The flora and fauna of Turkey is extremely diversified – you will see different plants and animals from Europe, Asia and even Africa.
