Weather in Italy - Sardinia
Because of the constant wind conditions in the northern Sardinia around Porto Pollo you will find most sailors on the Costa Smeralda. There are two winds that make up perfect conditions for sporty sailing there – Sirocco, the wind from the Sahara, and Mistral, the quite strong wind from the west or north-west. Circulating winds mostly blow in the south, whereas on the eastern coast winds from the south or south-east prevail. If you plan a sailing cruise in Sardinian waters, you should either be an experienced sailor or sign up a skipper. A study of nautical literature as well as prudent navigation is necessary in this area.
