Weather in the Mecklenburg Lake District
The climate is continental with cold winter and warm summer. The Müritz is quite flat on many spots. Together with the freshening wind this affects steep and short waves, which can be over one meter high. Over the wide water surface, the wind can become considerably stronger. If it besides comes over one of the wide bays, as for example the west wind blowing from Röbel or Sietow, it may result in a “jet effect”.
