Yacht Charter Fuengirola

Fuengirola
Fuengirola - The Best of the Costa del Sol
Conveniently located on 8km of sandy beaches and enjoying a priviledged position of Spain's coveted south shores which draw locals and foreign tourists during the warm summer months, Fuengirola has made a name for itself withing the Yacht Charter community.

General Info
One of the most renowned Yacht Charter resorts on Spain’s Coasta del Sol, Fuengirola is a former Moorish town in the south side of Spain, with more than 8km of beaches and plenty of facilities for tourists.

Its location it between other famous holiday resorts, Malaga and Marbella, being considered a great starting point to explore the Andalucia coast and everything this has to offer. Apart from being a blue flag resort, Fuengirola is also very popular with the British crowds of Yacht Charter holidaymakers, having the longest promenade on the Andalucian shores.

Travel & Arrival
One of the reasons Fuengirola is so popular is because it’s very accessible from land, sea and air and it’s located in a region full of things to see and do. Just 25 minutes from the Malaga International Airport, Fuengirola thus becomes accessible to every major airline in Europe. The transfer can be made via car rental (numerous agencies operate at the airport – however, those outside the airport might prove somewhat cheaper), train or taxi, the latter being the most convenient for Yacht Charter arrivals.

By land, your options are pretty much the same, either train or car. If you arrive by train, Fuengirola is the last stop so you needn’t worry about where to get off. Also, it’s very convenient for Yacht Charter groups because trains have a higher frequency than buses.

By water, you can take boat trips from Benalmadena to Fuengirola which are not only relaxing but also fun as you get to explore the whole shoreline. Of course, there’s the option of arriving here in your own boat, which then you can moor at the local Yacht Charter marina.

Avant & Apres Sail
Staring out life as a small fishing village, the location and the lovely weather of Fuengirola meant that it quickly turned into a metropolis when the Arabs built a castle (Castillo Sohail) on the neighboring foothills which is still standing today and is actually a major Yacht Charter attraction.

Among some other interesting places to visit you can try the Plaza de Toros (the bullring), the Roman ruins, the zoo and the harbor. These, coupled with the 8km of sandy beaches should take up most of your time when not out bathing our sailing with your Yacht Charter friends.

If its shopping you’re looking to do, there are several convenient places where you can pick up lots of interesting things, though the prices are not among the best you can find. There are several glamorous shopping malls in the downtown area of the Yacht Charter resort, as well as a wide array of shops on the beachfront. Another interesting place to go shopping is the market, held every Tuesday in the Market Square and every Sunday near the Mosque.

Several cuisines meet here to offer Yacht Charter tourists an intricate and yet delicious menu from the many restaurants scattered along the waterfront or in the food quarter of Fuengirola. The good news is there are prices and menus for every pocket, from the lavish fish restaurants to the oriental fast food stalls on the street.

The nightlife in Fuengirola is divided into two separate parts: the entertainment for common people is located in the many and loud bars of the waterfront where you’ll find many Yacht Charter sailors and boatmen, and then the high brow entertainment in the fancy clubs near the town center.

Events & Actions
For a tourist town, Fuengirola sure has a lot of events to keep the partying Yacht Charter  crowds happy. First off, there’s the Carnival in February, the Holy Week during Easter Sunday, the Verbena (Los Boliches feria) from the 12th to the 16th of August and the Feria del Rosario (town’s main feast) held between the 6th and 12th of October.

In the local vocabulary the word “boredom” does not exist, there is always something to see and do. When you can tear yourself from the beach, you can go to the Aquapark, take a train ride to Malaga, rent pedal boats, jet skis, parascending equipment and get a bird eye view of the harbor and the beach. The city also has lots of golf courses in case you want to get away from the Yacht Charter boat and crew and just hit a few holes.
